I enjoyed the book Molly's Place immensely! I immediately recognized the lilt of Molly's voice, which is no suprise when you know that I was brought up in a home with extended family, and an elderly Great-aunt. Molly's speech and that of Nora and Maggie, reminds me of my aunt's brogue. About once a month far-flung family visited, my mom always served Lady Baltimore cake and tea, they would sit around the dining room table and talk of family and friends back home,( Ireland) , while we children hung on there every word. It was great fun to revisit the troubles faced by most emigres as they became acclimated to a new country and in Chicago especially. I can honestly say that I can't wait for book two, since I feel every bit an eavesdropper to Molly and friends lifes, as I was an eavesdropper to my Aunt's life and that of her siblings, friends, cousins and their families. Thank you Kate, for reminding me of so many pleasant memories.
