Now I can see a lot more Wifi signals than with what my older wifi adapter (Tp-link WN821N) with it's considerably weak internal antenna used to do in the same spot, but I can't really connect to them at all as is used to be the case with my older adapter. So in reality there is almost no gain benefit from getting this over my older antenna-less adapter. If you really need to improve your Wifi signal do an extensive research on the chipsets that is being used by those wifi adapters. My older wifi adapter had an Atheros AR9170, This one caries Ralink RT3072.. so my suggestion to you is to go for another wifi adapter that has better/newer chipset from Atheros with some external antennas to help you get a better signal.
