For her second long-player, New Orleans's own Amanda Shaw seamlessly mixes a wide array of genres including Dixie Chicks-esque roots pop, steamy roadhouse corkers, and traditional Zydeco and Cajun stomps. The results are an eclectic but affecting listen, and prove that when backed by her band of industry pros, the Cute Boys, this dynamic bandleader and teenage fiddle prodigy can do anything she pleases. The thrills are many, but when Shaw's fiddle runs lead her band through "McGee's Medley" and the penultimate medley of traditional Louisiana reels, all bets are off.
Dirty Linen (p.84) - "With chops and charisma to spare, Amanda Shaw is an artist built to last, and just may succeed in bringing Americana music to the teen market."
