Editor's NoteThe Japanese PRIDE Fighting Championships are the premier event of mixed martial arts, an extreme sport that incorporates elements of judo, karate, jiu jitsu, kickboxing, and wrestling into a no-holds-barred style of fighting. This volume includes 11 matches from the SHOCKWAVE 2004 event, featuring top fighters Fedor Emelianenko, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Wanderlei Silva, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Kevin Randleman, Ryan Gracie, and many others in thrilling bouts of hand-to-hand combat.
The final battle of Fedor and Big Nog7/8/2011
This was the card that held one of the biggest fights in MMA history. Fedor battling Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira was a title unification that was held to end the ambiguity from their no contest at a previous event. Also on this card was a rare fight in which two Olympic Gold Medalists fought. Rulon Gardner (wrestling and of biggest loser fame) took on Hidehiko Yoshida (Judo). Another great Pride card.
