Author Bio
Jude Deveraux
Jude Deveraux was in her sixth year as a fifth-grade teacher when her first book was accepted by a publisher--only 27 days after she had submitted the manuscript--for an advance of $7,500, close to her annual salary at the time of $9,600. The next day she quit her job and devoted her full-time energies to writing. After spending her first years as a writer living in a trailer, Deveraux was finally able to move into a large house in Sante Fe with such amenities as five fireplaces and a bidet in her bedroom. Known mostly for her historical romances, Deveraux's most popular novels feature the Taggert and Montgomery clans.
