Red Faction: Guerrilla plays like Grand Theft Auto, it has a big map some really cool weapons and upgrades. I play this game for hours and i never get tired of it because it has great graphics and a lot of action. I recommend this game because its affordable and fun.

Review Here's a question you probably already know the answer to: do you like to blow things up? Yes? Well, then Volition's Red Faction: Guerrilla is for you, since smashing apart buildings and detonating large quantities of explosives is basically what it's all about. If you're familiar at all with the previous games in the franchise, reaching back to the original released in 2001, you'll find quite a bit different with this third entry. Guerrilla isn't a first-person shooter; it's a third-person action game that plays out entirely on Mars' surface. While you can't tunnel through the ground in this one, you can break to bits pretty much anything built on top. Set in a Grand Theft Auto-style sandbox environment, the game offers a number of side and story missions in its single-player component along with a multitude of multiplayer options that, though there are issues, makes for some of the most explosive action around...Taking place years after the events of the first game, Guerrilla is again set on Mars, this time under the control of the violently oppressive Earth Defense Force, or EDF. You play as Alec Mason, a newcomer to the planet who was just looking for work, but soon finds himself wrapped up with the Red Faction resistance movement to wrestle control of the surface away from the EDF. To do so, Mason must liberate six zones on Mars, each with their own set of side and story missions...If all you care about is blasting things to pieces, you're going to love Red Faction: Guerrilla. Seeing a tower topple to the ground in a seemingly realistic fashion after smacking away its support beams with a sledgehammer is really a thrill, and though it may lose its appeal as you continue through the lengthy campaign, it's still worth checking out, particularly after you unlock some of the better weapons. What's more disappointing about Volition's effort is the rocky mission design, bland artistic style, weak plot and anemic character development, which shifts too much focus to the element of destruction to maintain a level of excitement. Its enjoyable gunplay mechanics along with the weapons and opportunity for tearing apart structures carry over into the online space, where Volition has built an impressive multiplayer suite that includes stat tracking, unlocks, and a number of game modes that focus on flattening buildings. While the game may not do everything right, it's your best bet for free-form demolition and unpretentious entertainment.

Review When Volition first demoed an early version of Red Faction: Guerrilla a few years ago, we doubted that it would ever be more than a nifty tech demo. Well, let us be one of the first to say that we were dead wrong. The team at Volition has turned Red Faction: Guerrilla into a top-notch action title while also managing to produce what may just be the closest thing yet to a fully interactive game world. That's no small feat...Fully interactive environments have always been something of an elusive beast in the video game realm. Whether it is the latest action title or a classic RPG, artificial limitations on the world have always been imposed for gameplay reasons, even if those limitations didn't quite make sense. Why should a macho military man who can carry a veritable arsenal in his backpack be unable to take out a wooden door with C4 and a bazooka? Nope, he needs the key for that one...We've discussed Wrecking Crew in detail before, but it's worth another mention simply because it is a profoundly addicting gameplay mode, especially if you have a group of local players to game alongside. Best described as a "destruction-based party game," Wrecking Crew drops two to four players into a single arena with the goal of causing the most damage in a limited amount of time. It's an extremely simple mode and easy to learn, but it keeps players coming back again and again to try "one more time." Sadly, Wrecking Crew doesn't have any sort of leaderboard support, nor does it officially support one player. Because it is a bonus mode that was added onto the game, it's hard to find too much fault for missing features, but if there is one thing we would love to see in a future patch it would be leaderboard support for Wrecking Crew...It is safe to say that Red Faction: Guerrilla has exceeded our expectations in almost every regard. While it is not a perfect game, it breaks a tremendous amount of new ground from a technical perspective and bundles in an enjoyable single-player experience with a solid multiplayer component. Red Faction: Guerrilla may not have the name recognition of Halo or Call of Duty, but it has enough depth of play to hold its own against any contenders.

Epic Sci-Fi Setting: Explore the huge, unforgiving Martian landscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleaming EDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-world environments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire.
Evolving and Emergent Gameplay: Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics -- mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
Multiplayer Combat: There is no place to hide when you put your guerrilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.
Open-World Guerrilla Warfare: You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
Strategic Destruction: Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
