|Neither a feckless knight-errant nor a king who neglected his kingdom, Richard I was in reality a masterful and businesslike ruler. In this wholly rewritten version of a classic account of the reign of Richard The Lionheart, John Gillingham scrutinizes the reasons for the King's fluctuating reputation over successive centuries and provides a convincing new interpretation of the significance of the reign. This edition includes a complete annotation and expanded bibliography.|
From the Publisher:
With the emphasis firmly on Richard's monarchy rather than on his personal life, Gillingham's history aims to explain why the Lionheart's reputation has fluctuated more than that of any other monarch. The study places Richard in Europe, the Mediterranean and Palestine and demonstrates that few rulers had more enemies or more influence. The paperback edition includes an updated bibliography.

Book was suppose to arrive 2 days ago according to DHL, but now when I try tracking it is with the USPS with no known delivery and hundreds of miles away. Thanks DHL. Ok, it arrived. But banged up corners, scuffed cover, and no dust jacket.
I chose Rakuten over Amazon in this case.Ordered a book needed for work under a high priority scenario. The projected time of arrival was not met more than once. Result being, I'm here giving you honest feedback.
Rakuten and Books2AnywhereUS sent me back and forth to each other to cancel my order. I had to cancel my order because Books2AnywhereUS couldn't process my billing address and my order was delayed so I didn't need it anymore.
