Twelve Thousand Fans. Twenty Cameras. Seven Acts. One Day. And an Impossible Mission...to Reunite the Wu-Tang Clan.
This vibrant documentary follows concert promoter Chang Weisberg and his Guerilla Union promotion team as they work furiously to ensure that what would turn out to be the last performance of notorious no-shows the Wu-Tang Clan actually takes place. Weisberg puts everything on the line to achieve the seemingly impossible: reuniting the 10 members of the Grammy-winning Wu-Tang Clan including Method Man ( Garden State TV s The Wire ) RZA (composer for Blade: Trinity and Kill Bill vols. 1 and 2) and founding member the late Ol Dirty Bastard to perform at the 2004 Rock the Bells hip-hop concert. As if each Wu-Tang member is not difficult enough to work with the venue s incompetent security malfunctioning equipment and riotous crowd all work in tandem to try keeping the history making show from going on. But Weisberg and his team come through to deliver a concert and a Wu-Tang Clan performance of a lifetime! Also featuring performances by Redman Dilated Peoples MC Supernatural Sage Francis Eyedea & Abilities and more!Running Time: 104 min. Format: DVD MOVIE. Genre: DOCUMENTARIES. Rating: NR. Professional Reviews

FilmCritic.com 9 of 10
Urgent and unrelenting in ways that no concert film has been since the Maysle brothers took on Altamont in Gimme Shelter, Denis Hennelly and Casey Suchan's Rock the Bells takes you into the fire pit of concert promoter Chang Weisberg's absurdly ambitious attempt to reunite the immortal Wu-Tang Clan for his "Rock the Bells" concert in San Bernardino, California in 2004...As the opening bands start running out of energy, Wu spokesman RZA has to plead and bribe ODB to come to the venue, as the notorious member is holed up in a hotel room strung out on crack. It's an enthralling, ludicrous race-to-the-finish to see if the group will actually perform, egos flaring and money being drained from Weisberg as if he were the National Reserve. - Chris Cabin

Variety 8 of 10
The last scheduled concert of the original Wu-Tang Clan is the subject of Casey Suchan and Denis Henry Hennelly's lively and amusing docu, "Rock the Bells." A paean to indie ingenuity, pic follows dedicated music promoter Chang Weisberg and his team as they juggle mountains of seemingly unsolvable problems at their 2004 Rock the Bells concert, an all-day affair in San Bernardino, Calif., featuring several cutting-edge artists and scheduled to culminate with the Clan. Between the out-there acts and the never-ending comedy of errors in the wings, docu should rock in limited release, appealing to devotees and the uninitiated alike...With nine acts booked, the schedule is tight, and one of pic's most hilarious segments features cross-cutting between the production manager trying to hustle off a showboating act and its oblivious, blissed-out DJ, wringing infinite subtle changes on his dying reverb. - Ronnie Scheib
