Author Bio
Rosemary Verey
Rosemary Verey's first passion was horses, but a horse rolled over her in a hunting accident and she switched to gardening. The mother of four children, Verey lived with her husband at Barnsley House in Gloucestershire, which she transformed into a four-acre showplace that has been open to the public since 1970. Verey designed gardens for Prince Charles, Elton John, and other celebrities, and was enormously influential in the field of garden design in not only England but the U.S. She was also a gifted writer, and her books THE CLASSIC GARDEN and THE GARDEN IN WINTER are considered classics in the field.
