Customer Reviews of Samsung 840 EVO MZ-7TE500LW 500GB 2.5" SATA Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Love this SSD!!!!!5/12/2014
I'm so glad SSDs are becoming more affordable! Although the drive is sized for a laptop, I put it in my desktop to be used for all the system and program files - using the existing drive for my documents and such. I love that the drive came with the transfer and performance software as well as the adapter cable that connects the drive to a USB port. Everything worked flawlessly and I used the adapter to replace my laptop HD with a smaller SSD (the smaller one did not come with the cable). I'm glad that my desktop is new enough to take advantage of the newer technology of the SSD because, according to the software provided, my sequential read clocked in at 630 MBS (90 MBS faster than the specs) and my sequential write clocked in at 580 MBS (60 MBS above spec). Love it, love it, love it!
Easy to transfer data and install. Drive is very fast and noticeably quicker than a hard disk drive.

Love the product and it's come with the software and very easy to clone the hard drive just like 1 2 3.
Got this drive to update a laptop I use for DJing. This has completely improved my services to my clients by 100%.
Samsung SSD (500gb)1/31/2014
This kit (MZ-7TE500LW) came with laptop convert kit which means you can use the software and USB 3.0 cable to immediately clone your current hard disk to new SSD. In buy.com market place. MZ-7TE500BW has the same SSD without those additional accessory but their price is same. You should buy this one with more value.
Great Upgrade for a 2 year-old MacBook Pro1/5/2014
The migration software that comes with the unit is for Windows, only. No problem, you can find several different approaches, on the web, for doing the disk image transfer for a Mac. I used the Mac's native Disk Utility and it worked fine. Make sure you have the time, because it took several hours to image a 500gb disk using the SATA to USB adapter that was included with the drive. Performance is stellar. Data intensive programs respond immediately. The silent operation is a little spooky, but you quickly forget about it given the immediate response to all data requests. Boot time is now an astounding 15 seconds. I have seen none of the Mac compatibility issues reported by some. You can enable the TRIM capability built into OS-X using the excellent (and free) Trim Enabler utility, available at http://www.groths.org. Overall, this was a great upgrade .
