Customer Reviews of Samsung ML-2525W Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer
Great... -if you can get it to work8/26/2011
Perfect personal printer -great hardware price and cost per print, very fast and quiet... BUT extremely temperamental to get it to work which totally spoils the utility. Via USB direct connect -or- hardwired ethernet sometimes works but often sits there and says the printer is busy or offline -power-cycle reset needed and it will happen again. Wireless ethernet- hard to set up and settings don't seem to persist. Better results on WindowsXP networks as drivers updated BUT very unstable on Macintosh and Win7 networks. Samsung Tech support directly is non-existent, rude and of no help at all. Overall, price, size performance is excellent for personal use... ONLY IF you can get it to work. Look at all the forums complaints before you buy.
: Samsung ML-2525W6/22/2011
I bought a Samsung ML-2525W about a month ago for home use. Setting it up for use via USB cable was trivial; getting it up on my wireless network took a bit more fiddling. The instructions were difficult to decipher. I expect that a person who is not sufficiently computer savvy would need phone support to complete the wireless setup.
Would not connect to network3/19/2011
After 2 attempts with Samsung tech on the line, I could not get the printer to connect to my network. I also tried to hook it up myself to no avail. I finally had to send it back to be checked out/replaced. I sent it back 3 days ago with Samsung approval. This is probably my last Samsung. Be wary.
piece if junk2/16/2011
First, this printer is really difficult and non-intuitive with overly complicated instructions on how to setup for ad-hoc wireless usage. The printer now stopped working properly (misprints overheating etc.) after 5months and outside the buy.com warranty of 45 days. Bah. Avoid.
Does it really consume so much power....?1/18/2011
Printer is fast, easy to setup, print quality is excellent. I tried to plug in the printer to different outlets, but, it seems to consume lot of power. My light bulbs flicker every time the printer kicks into action. The digital clocks are reset. I am a little scared now. We have a lot of house hold electronics but nothing causes such flickering. Not sure if there is a solution for this problem. If this continues, I will have to return the printer.
Great value and works great. Only one negative and really isn't. All these wireless printers coming out are G protocol - If you are running an N network and hook up a G device EVERYTHING on your wireless network drops down to G. DUMB! Why can't they just make these N wirelss. I like the printer but am running it wired with an RJ45 jack - and yes I knew it was G when I bought it just wanted to vent
Excellent Laser for the Price and Wireless to boot12/26/2010
Great Printer have had Samung Lasers for years, so when this Ethernet-Wireless one came along I bought it. Set up can be confusing, but it did come with the USB to connect it with. Only draw back was the wireless only supports WEP,WPA and I use WPA2-Personal, so for me I had to add a WPA on my router just for the printer. Have read other reviews and really not sure why they think that the printer would cause them to have power blinkage, after all it's only a 110V device.
Great network printer for the home12/26/2010
This printer is pretty easy to setup. Just follow the prompts and you'll have your wireless networked printer set up quickly. First Samsung printer for me, so I don't know how this will last me. So far so good though.
Great Printer! But.......12/8/2010
Printer is fast, setup is every easy, print quality is very good. My family prints from laptops all over the house and response time is excellent. But, it seems to consume lot of power. My light bulbs flicker everytime the printer kicks into action. My house is brand new (2 months old). Last night, the power went off for a brief second, resetting my internet, clocks on appliances and satellite receiver. Is there any solution to this?. If this continues, I may have to return the printer.
Excellent Networked Printer12/7/2010
Overall, excellent printer with quick 1st-page-out time and fast once it gets going. Easy to network and install at a price you'd be challenged to beat for this level networkable black laser printer. Very Satisfied.
This product is great for its price. However, it does consume a lot of power and my light bulbs flicker throughout the house. My house is wired pretty good as I have Central AC, built-in microwave, and other power hungry equipment and lights don't flicker when all of them are in operation at the same time. Even if the printer is the only piece of equipment that is ON, lights still flicker. Otherwise, it is a great product. Setup was easy.
Wasn't super-easy to setup, but I followed the instructions just fine & it was up & running very quickly. Prints quickly into another room where I don't even have to hear/see it. Helps the wife print tons of coupons w/o spending tons on ink for our inkjet...
5 all the way10/25/2010
best value i have seen yet, suprise the usb cable was included. set up was a breeze. print out was great.
A fast little printer9/27/2010
This is my second Samsung--my first was still in working order after 7 years, but decided to upgrade because of the price and the black, which suits decor. Very satisfied.
For printing of high quality it is a good choice. For convenience of compatibility with limited space, it is a little heavier.
Great Value, Good Form Factor....HP Watchout!8/29/2010
The Samsung ML-2525W Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer is a great value....as I paid about $100 for mines. Overall and like other reviewers have mentioned, the foot print is minimal, the form factor is good, the aesthetic and external design is great and I beleive the cost of ownership will be slightly better than having an HP
This is the first Samsung I've owned and based on its performance I'd buy another. It was discovered easily by my U-verse router, the software and drivers installed easily on my Windows 7 and XP computers, it is sleek and modern looking with a very small footprint (no paper tray hanging open like the small HP printers), it is very fast to wake and print from sleep mode, and the print quality for both text and graphics is awesome. Last but not least, the buy.com price was the best anywhere when I purchased mine. Time will tell if it is built to last for a reasonable amount of use. If so, I will be completely satisfied.
