Samsung is great... Alex at LegendMicro is even be2/25/2011
This is a great monitor/HDTV. But what is even better is the service I was given by Alex in Customer Service at LegendMicro.com... the company that actually shipped the product. Had some slight intermittent problems with the unit that was shipped and some extenuating circumstances in getting it shipped back in time. Alex understood and responded to both in ways that gave me complete confidence in his fairness. We all tend to think of a purchase as ending when our account gets debited and our purchase arrives... that is until something goes wrong. That's when we realize that the after purchase part of the transaction can be every bit as important as choosing the right product. If you ever have a problem, give Alex a call.
Very good Product, grab one asap, they dont make i1/12/2011
Yes this is a wonderful monitor, with a very good resolution, which they dont make any more, so buy it if you still find it anywhere. the monitor is too good, not like the 1080 resolution monitors that you get now a days. Plus it is also a TV ... just love it. It comes with 90 days warranty, but the SquareTrade 3 year warranty and you will have the peace of mind. both together will cost you lot lesser than the original price. I am glad I found it and I am sure you will too.
Ordered this T260HD set from Buy.com but shipped from seller Legendmicro and was "Refurbished". It came with no Owner's Manual or HHMI cable. Went "Online" and downloaded and printed it's 69 page LCD User Manual, plus a Quick Start Guide. This monitor is pictured as "Touch of Color" and looks to have a red lighted bar in the bezel below the Samsung nameplate. When I could only get about 1.5 inches to light-up below the power on button (instead of the full 25") I thought there must be a defective. Reinforcing this belief was a posted review from another buyer that decided his was defective too with the same issue, but decided not to return it. I had no problem receiving a return approval RMA (4 days) all done e-mail. After many hours of research "On-Line" I found another owner of this set that confirmed that red light bar DOES NOT light up completely, so I canceled the return Very pleased with this monitor that also is a HDTV that I don't plan to use, but to adjust the sets menu you will need to install batteries in the TV remote(supplied) to adjust it!
I have the same at home and at my office. 1. It's the last of the "old" aspect ratio - I dislike the new "widescreen" format. 2. I initially had a Viewsonic but it's highly reflective surface was awful. This Samsung has almost no surface reflection of rear light sources. 3. For photos - I like it but it's a bit bright so when I go to print they don't look as lively. Color is fairly true looking (not over-zowed).
A wonderful monitor at an attractive price9/3/2010
I compare my Samsung T260HD to my previous, everyday computer monitor: the 24-inch display of a 2008 model Apple iMac. Both the T260HD and the 24-inch iMac have 1920 x 1200 pixels, but everything appears slightly larger on the T260HD, because its viewable area is 1.5 inch longer diagonally. The T260HD uses less energy and is much less damaging to my eyeballs because it uses LED backlights and the iMac uses fluorescent backlights. (2009 and 2010 model iMacs use LEDs.) The T260HD screen is antiglare and the iMac is covered by glass which extends beyond the screen itself. Text is less sharp on the T260HD than on the iMac, but it is sharp enough. The color is excellent on the T260HD, more accurate and a bit more saturated than the color on the iMac -- except that there is "color shift" when viewing the T260HD at an angle horizontally; the iMac display didn't have this issue because it uses an advanced technology called "in-plane switching." The Samsung T260HD is much better at displaying fast moving images because the "response time" is much less than on the iMac. The speakers in the T260HD are better than the speakers in the 2008 model iMac. My computer is a mid-2010 model Mac mini; I connect the mini to the T260HD by using a HDMI cable, that's all, no adapter needed. I'm very happy with this combination.
I use this product for about 3 months primarily as a computer monitor. It performs beautifully, with its wide view angle, correct colors and vast real estate. It is also good as TV but It would be much more practical should it have PIP feature.
All in one. very nice monitor3/22/2010
I been using the monitor about a month now the screen is so bright it hurt my eye after 30min sit front of the screen but that how bright the monitor is and the color is so true that you ain't gonna get yellow looking background like the other monitor if you have dual monitor hook up and see what i mean 25.5 inch screen for a PC you can't ask for more. if you looking for some real nice mulitmedia monitor this is one for you don't think just buy it if you need it
Ease on the Eyes3/13/2010
Once I hooked this baby up, it was refreshing to my eyes. Instructions were plain, controls easily accessible, and everything I need to look at is clear. Using this strictly as a computer monitor, but I suspect it would serve just as well as an HD TV.
Very nice !!3/1/2010
This monitor is by far my favorite. The native resolution looks great, very bright with great color. I have an OTA antenna connected that picks up several HD local channels and they look great. I have yet to watch a DVD or other HD source but expect that they will all look great. It would be nice if it had 2 MS response but at 5 MS it looks great for what I use it for. The touch on/off takes a bit to get used to but works pretty well. I have no neg on this one, recommend to all looking for an inexpensive HD TV or a real nice monitor.
Terrific Buy !!!2/26/2010
This is an awesome monitor/HDTV. The resolution is outstanding, beautiful picture and touch of color is very eye appealing. The current price is a super deal .... don't miss out on this high preformance Samsung.
Great Monitor, Versatile and Responsive10/16/2009
I have enjoyed this monitor. The remote is nice and the monitor switches from PC to HDTV very quickly. It has a variety of input ports and even a digital optical out for sending 5.1 over-the-air HDTV audio to your stereo system. The large screen size is a plus. The touch-sensitive power button - just touch the glassy corner - is also very cool. Overall great monitor for the price. One con is the contrast ratio is just a bit on the weak side, probably something to do with combining TV and Computer Monitor. But it is acceptable and my wife and I feel we got a good deal on a great monitor.
This TV/Monitor was a GREAT Deal and has a beautiful picture. Very happy with the purchase. Samsung is truly the leader in this industry and this product came with a wonderful price. A MUST OWN.
This thing looks sexy, sharp, and crisp. Another great samsung product. If i had to complain about anything it would have to be the tv viewing angle. but it is a computer monitor first i'd say. overall great purchase.
I was absolutely pleased with the prompt shipment and the price being the best of all options. The tv/monitor has been fantastic and I am completely happy with my whole purchase.
this product IS perfection3/27/2009
great monitor/tv. easy to setup, easy to use, great features, and perfect picture quality no matter what the source. use for my computer/cable/ps3/other computer this tv IS perfection
It's just perfect!2/22/2009
I love this TV. It looks so sleek, elegant and charming. It's just different from most sharp edged TVs on the market. It looks really expensive and become a nice decoration for my room. The picture and sound quality is good too. The fancy thing is i can turn it on and off by swiping my finger! All of my friends are amazed about that. I have no complain about this TV up to now.
Great Monitor and HDTV1/5/2009
Great Monitor and HDTV for the money. Great for gaming(used for ps3 and wii). HDMI and Component, DBI and VGA. It has a usb service. No scart or composite. Sound could be better. Viewing angle not that good compared to other 40-inch samsung products that I am familiar with. Native resolution of 1920x1200 is amazing. Had issues to tilt it up but it is not a big deal. (I'm not trying hard since it I don't want to break it ;) overall recommended.
This is the first of two different brand small screen LCD's I own. The samsung is an excellent buy, price wise for the quality of picture and performance. I recommend them. I own several products from Samsung all are very good.
Great Monitor and TV12/20/2008
Terrific PC Monitor and even better HDTV. I bought this monitor because I do detailed graphical estimates on the computer and wanted a larger display to ease eye strain. It performs perfectly for my purpose. As a HDTV is has a great display and tunes in digital cable channels I didn't even know existed. The only negatives (and they are minor) are the lack of PIP and limited opertator manual making it a challenge to program preffered channels. Despite these very minor issues I thought enough of this TV to buy a second one for my daughter's Christmas present this year.
Nice flat screen!11/8/2008
Good price for a very good product, Samsung makes quality stuff. A little disappointed that I cannot go straight to an HD channel since there isn't a decimal point on the remote, but overall the picture is great with fine sound. Looking forward to digital conversion next year.
I bought this product about one month ago now, and I have been quite pleased with it's performance so far. I don't normally watch enough TV to make it worth getting a big HDTV. I've hooked it up to my new computer and Xbox 360 and have gotten excellent picture quality from both. It's a big screen so I can multitask easily and watching movies is enjoyable because I can sit across the room and still see the picture. Two cons: 1. The power button is a little fickle; often non-responsive. Usually, I just end up using the controller. 2. It doesn't have a sleep mode. If I leave my computer and it goes to sleep, it will put up an annoying message which leaves me concerned it could burn the pixels. Other than that, it's a great buy!
The monitor is really big! It has beautiful color. It is great that this monitor can get TV signal as well as get signal from PC. Therefore, I can install some big software and change the mode to TV and wait for the software to be finished. However, it spends a lot of effort for me to make it work compatibly with my laptop in Windows. I need to install a software called nature color which has a big bug in the version from the disk it brings with. The bug causes my laptop blue screen and need to restart every time I start it. That's suck. And I also found one problem in play movie in real play in a window mode that those area not playing the movie shows strange white lines occasionally. This is also annoying making me feel it didn't pass the quality check.
Worth every penny10/1/2008
Great tv/monitor!! Other than not having PIP and a USB hub, a great purchase that prvides beautiful picture quality and a lot of adjustments to provde a perfect picture, even as a monitor. Highly recommended.
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL FLAWLESS SAMSUNG PRODUCT!!9/29/2008
VERY NICE MONITER WITH A BEAUTIFUL CRISP PICTURE!!!! ALSO, A VERY NICE GLOSSY BLACK FRAME!!
Great Monitor with a minor defect.9/8/2008
Overall, i'm happy with this monitor, huge display for PC and no dead pixel. The HD quality, 1080p is also extremly sharp, watching HD channels and playing PlayStation 3 have never been this great. Unfortunelty, the Touch of Color is the major disapointing in this product. I recieved a sligtly defect product, the ToC only glowing about an inch, only right under the power button, instead the whole bottom bar of the monitor. I figured that is not the major problem for me, so i decided not to return it and save the hussle.
Great Monitor/TV for the money9/1/2008
Very pleased with overall value and performance. There is some motion blur which bothers me but my wife does not notice. Stand is a bit wobbly but not so much where it would ever tip over and cause damage. No PIP which is a bit of a minus. Screen looks great and displays Xbox 360 great. Overall about an A-.
Great monitor/TV, well worth the price!8/29/2008
This is definitely the best monitor and TV I have ever owned. It looks great on the outside, and the picture quality is exquisite. The PC cable is a bit short for my tastes, but that's really the only qualm I have with it. If you're looking for a monitor or television of this size, this is DEFINITELY the product to go with. Buy.com has a great deal going on for it too, so snatch it up while you can!
No Vesa mounts?8/18/2008
Is this a TV or a monitor? Not having wall mounts is totally unacceptable for a TV. It has a remote control, and is described as a TV... so it should have wall mounts. That is ridiculously bad. I don't know what Samsung was thinking.
One gamble that paid off8/17/2008
This is a wonderful monitor/tv...something that I hoped would be true as I paid $600 without ever seeing one in action in a store. It seemed too good to be true, a 1080P set that also was a good monitor. I have used it for long enough to be confident that it is simply the best tv I have ever owned, and my previous tv was a 720P large JVC, with a great picture. I haven't used it as a monitor yet, but as a tv it has a spectacular picture on high-def.
What you see is What you get8/17/2008
It's Huge! I have been looking for a TV & Monitor combo that I can afford. This is an impressive display with no major problems. I have not used the HDTV in 1080p mode yet. If you are in the market for a 24+ monitor, don't hesitate to buy this.
