Customer Reviews of SanDisk 512MB Ultra II Secure Digital Card (SD)
no problems yet9/27/2006
My first SD memory purchase; it seems to be working just fine. Only caution: for many applications, such as a lower-end digital camera (I have a 4 megapixel Canon A520), the accelerated write speed is not fully utilized. Each electronic device has an inherent (built-in) top write speed, and for lower-end cameras, you'll never achieve the 60x or 40x write speeds of many memory cards. In fact, I see little difference in write speed for this card vs. the much slower 128 MB card that came with the camera. Unfortunately, most device manufacturers won't tell you what the inherent top write speed of the device is (Canon told me it's "unpublished data"), so you won't know until you try the card out. In any event, if you upgrade cameras in the future the newer one will almost certainly have a faster write speed, so it's a purchase which can help you out down the road.
Ultra fast - great memory card!7/1/2005
I just ordered another one since the first one I bought works so well. Buy.com's price is great - less than Best Buy, which is where I bought the first one. I have the Canon Powershot S2IS and teamed with this card, I feel like I am working with a 35mm SLR! My shots are virtually instantaneous and can be reviewed right away. I definitely recommend this item.
IF you have the need for speed when using your digital devices, buy this card. I brought it for my canon SD200 digital camera and I can take pictures much faster then average SD cards.
