Customer Reviews of SanDisk Ultra 120GB 2.5" SATA II Solid State Drive (SSD)
Awesome SSD for the price. Have had no problems with mine in two years now. Dropped it into my laptop (which only supports SATA 1 speeds) and my boot times dropped dramatically. Full disclosure, I also did a clean install of Windows 7 (old drive was Windows Vista) at the time. Between those three events (replacing the hard disk with an SSD, fresh install, and going from Vista to Win7) my boot time dropped from over 6 minutes down to 27 seconds.
Fast and reliable4/10/2013
After more than a year of heavy usage I can say this drive is as dependable as can be. Not one BSOD, and it handles sleep mode perfectly, something many other SSDs struggle with. It's also very fast, you will hardly notice a difference between this and the faster SSDs out there.
Works perfectly. Easy install.
For use in a Colorspace UDMA photo drive6/19/2012
I purchased this drive to replace the mechanical drive in my ColorSpace UDMA device. For those not familiar with ColorSpace drives, they are designed for photographers who wish to download CF/SD cards in the field without a laptop. The drive works perfectly and although it does not extend battery life or is any lighter than my normal drive it gives me peace of mind that if the unit is dropped, the likelihood of a drive failure is greatly reduced.
Works great in my MacBook Pro6/15/2012
I have a 2.93 Core2Duo MacBook Pro (2009), this thing dropped in (literally took no more than five minutes), reformatted quickly and is a huge improvement in overall speed of my computer... It brought it back to life! It is even more responsive than the day I bought it. It boots in about seven seconds and loads applications in the blink of an eye. Just under a year of use, still going great!
Old but still good5/21/2012
SATA2 has become history with the introduction of the new platform by both AMD and INTEL. Sandisk Ultra SSD comes with the controller that pushes the speed to the maximal of the last generation connector: 280MB/S in both write and read.Though this number has been long surpassed by the SATA3 SSDs, I still like this product since my HM65 platform does not offer SATA3, and I need the maximal performance with existing resources. Get it for your SATA2 laptops. It is the best
A Good Solid State Drive4/2/2012
for Sata II interface performance at par and works perfect as per expectations. smooth sailing so far no hick-ups at all
Worked for almost 4 months3/22/2012
My Sandisk 120gb ssd worked when I recieved it. But after a little over 3 months it started freezing and bios did not detect any more. Trying to get RMA from Sandisk.
Let's hope this trend continues. I won't throw out any performance numbers and nonsense like that, because quite frankly, I do not care all that much about numbers. All I care about is how this thing operates in the real world. Apps load much faster and Windows starts or restarts a whole lot quicker.
Great if you enjoy reloading your laptop with Wind1/11/2012
Lasted two weeks, then was not recognized by laptop. Connected it to desktop computer to be sure and same result, not recognized. Did some research and found there is problem with SanDisk SSDs and Windows Hibernation. Coincides with the problems and failure I had, which only occured after hibernation. Now i am back to my old trusty slow noisey hot hard drive. Requested an RMA but I am a little gun shy at this point.
It's been working great1/6/2012
This thing has been flawless in the month that I have had it. No problems whatsoever. Let's hope this trend continues. I won't throw out any performance numbers and nonsense like that, because quite frankly, I do not care all that much about numbers. All I care about is how this thing operates in the real world. Apps load much faster and Windows starts or restarts a whole lot quicker. As long as this thing works, and works like it should, then I am happy.
Excellent SSD. I have had 2 for 2 weeks and have had no issues. Super fast and reasonably priced.Really improves the OS performance. One word of caution, it does not come with any cables or mounting supplies if you are planning on installing this in a desktop.
Quick to fail12/21/2011
Lasted five weeks, then died. Was a nice speed improvement over the old hard drive, until this SSD stopped working. Computer stopped recognizing it.
It was fast!11/12/2011
It was fast when it works. The drive died within 20 days of normal use. The SSD drive was not detected by the laptop.
Best bang for the buck!!!10/7/2011
I have a few SSDs from Kingston and OCZ and have had good experiences. I decided to try this model from SanDisk and all I can say is that it BLEW me away! Great performance ... 236MB/s sequential read, 123MB/s sequential write, 225MB/s 512k read, 122MB/s 512k write, 24MB/s 4k read, 58MB/s 4k write, 116MB/s 4k QD32 read, 105MB/s 4k QD32 write ... AWESOME! No issues... it just works.
Great performance, great price10/4/2011
I've had this up and running for 3 days now. It cut my load times in half for W7 and all the games I play. I previously had an OCZ Vertex Plus that was giving me tons of problems with data corruption, but this Sandisk is fast and reliable: 236MB/s sequential read, 123MB/s sequential write 225MB/s 512k read, 122MB/s 512k write 24MB/s 4k read 58MB/s 4k write 116MB/s 4k QD32 read, 105MB/s 4k QD32 write It is working great and I am so glad I bought it!
