" Say Her Name" is a love story, a bold inquiry into destiny and accountability, and a tribute to Aura Estrada, who she was and who she would''ve been in a living portrait of a love as joyous as it is deep and profound.
From the Publisher:
In an novel based on the author's real-life tragedy, Goldman, consumed with grief and guilt over the accidental death of his wife around their second anniversary, obsessively collects every memory of her, especially her writings, with the hopes of keeping her alive in his mind. By the author of The Art of Political Murder. Reprint.
Annotation:
Francisco Goldman's novelistic memoir SAY HER NAME grapples with grief and guilt in the aftermath of his bride's death in an accident at a Mexican beach. Passing back and forth in time between Aura's life and Francisco's mourning, the book attempts to measure the human loss in a way beyond either memorial portraiture or documentary tragedy. Goldman's story aims to be a resurrection of his lover, to answer his bereavement by creating an invincible companion possessing Aura's memories, who can survive in literature as she did not in real life.
