The good news is that this is a big drive for the money. What they didn't say clearly enough, that I probably should have figured out myself before ordering, was that a SATA drive requires both a different interface cable and a different power supply cable (it uses a different connector on the motherboard too, and NO cables are supplied). So the process of installing this drive involved getting hold of these cables after I received the drive. Since installing the drive, I began experiencing some system halts, so I ran CHKDSK and found several errors on the first pass over this newly formatted drive (XP/NTFS). Hmmm.
