Absolute Garbage - and I am not a "hater", this is9/16/2011
At setup, this seemed fine. But as I got into it, several issues came up. First - group level security was not working at all. I had to manage it at the individual level. Not the worst problem, but it supports groups, they just don't work. Second - Had issues with remote FTP access. Other servers on the same network worked fine. Not sure the issue on this, but it was limited to the NAS. Third - For no apparent reason, it stopped being available on the network. The device was functioning normally, but was inaccessible via the shares. After some research, this is a VERY COMMON problem. The solution is to do a full hard reset, setup everything again, and wait for it to happen again. NOT reliable at all. I've owned this device for about two months and now I have to find a way to get my files off, then I am tossing this garbage in the bin. I'm going to get the DLINK instead. This device does not work well at all. Run away from this and find something else.
Warning this item is not DLNA compatible!3/14/2011
Buy at your own risk. The manual for this item does little to help you set it up as a NAS device. It is also advertised as being DLNA compatible but my Sony bluray player cannot find any files on it through the network. If you want to access your files over the internet good luck! Because there are no instructions on how to set it up. OVERALL TWO THUMBS DOWN!
