|The easy-to-use storage solution.|
The Expansion external hard drive installs easily by plugging in two cords. You can start saving your digital files to this hard drive within seconds of removing it from the box.
Instantly adds storage capacity.

Customer Reviews of Seagate Expansion STBV4000100 4TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive
We switched to these Seagate drives and they're a great value for good quality drives. So far, we've never had a failure.
quick service, good price, easy to use product, very satisfied
Could be great with minor changes4/6/2014
I am not using this with the software provided. I reformatted the drive with GPT to use with my back up program. Copies much faster than I thought.it would for a 5900 rpm drive. 2 weeks in with no problems so far but the drive is only on for 2 hours each night. Case needs better venting, even with the reduced speed it will get quite warm under load. It would be nice to see a 7200 rpm model like HGST. Cable should be standard not proprietary. Good price for a drive this size
Great Upgrade & Expansion4/5/2014
Plug and play as stated. Problem was looking for the USB 3.0 port on my computer to take advantage of the increased speed of the Seagate.
Great no problems so far what so ever
It's a USB HDD10/29/2013
Works as advertised and added 4 TB to my Windows 8.1 64bit machine with no issues. Installed in under a minute (er...just plug it into an outlet and into a USB port). Unlike my SAN, online backup (are we calling it cloud backup these days?) Backblaze backs up this USB drive.
Copying is slow, but it does get the job done. Slow copy could be because I only have USB 2.0 connection not USB 3.0
Good External HD but not great.10/24/2013
It would have been a great product if the cable connecting the drive is a standard USB connector, instead it uses its own proprietary ones.
So far so good. Work as advertise. Decent price for 4 TB.
good for back up my pictures
Seagate Expansion STBV40001006/17/2013
The drive has the capacity (4TB) I hoped for. But the warranty only for 1 year which I am not fond of.
Just what I needed6/11/2013
This drive allowed me to centralize somethings i had on various other drives. I thought the drive would be near capacity after moving all the things to it but I still have over a terabyte left and freed up more than enough space on my old hard drives. Had been looking for something like this for a while and at the low price I got it for, I couldn't pass it up. Worth every penny.
Item as described6/7/2013
Item as described. Thank you
I bought one of these and I currently use it for backup on a Windows 7 x64 machine. It works fine and transfers pretty quick via USB3.
Good HD, but...4/21/2013
...it cannot be formatted in encrypted mode via the Mac OS X "Disk Utility" app in v. 10.7.5 (Lion). Trying such gives an error code about sector partitioning not being what it should be. I've also tried partitioning the 4 TB drive in a single partition initially. However, that doesn't allow encryption as one of the choices. Erasing from there and attempting to reformat in an encrypted mode via "Disk Utility" doesn't work, either.
