||The director, Michael Winnick, clearly has some skill, especially in the areas of pacing and lighting. The film managed to entertain for a nice hour and forty minute run... something even most theater released movies fail to do...The film's special effects aren't the best out there. I was rather impressed with the quality the filmmakers achieved in creating the CGI shadow monster. There were a few moments where it didn't look cool, namely when it was gathered as a cloud and just chillin' for some reason or other, but there are also quite a few scenes where it actually seems cool. I'm fairly sure that if the film had a larger budget, the cloud could have been made to look more menacing. As it is, there are a few problems but nothing that can't be forgiven for the tight storyline and quality direction...This film plays out like a survival horror video game. I felt as if I was discovering things, gathering clues and weapons, and trying to escape throughout the movie.
