Annotation:
Karen Marie Moning launched an exciting series with DARKFEAVER in 2007, and with this utterly gripping novel she brings her story to close. Readers have watched MacKayla Lane transform from naïve Southern girl to a worldly woman battling for truth in a magical world she never could have imagined. Ordained as a fae hunter, Mac has fought and won many battles. In SHADOWFEVER, passions run even higher, and she must battle the most insidious evil forces yet.Karen Marie Moning launched an exciting series with DARKFEAVER in 2007, and with this utterly gripping novel she brings her story to close. Author Bio
Karen Marie Moning
Karen Marie Moning (pronounced MAW-ning) has been widely celebrated for both her romantic Highlander series and her urban-fantasy Fever books. One of four children, Moning was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned a bachelor's degree in Society and Law from Purdue University and embarked on a career in the insurance industry. After a decade of working in an office, she decided instead to pursue a long-held dream of writing a novel. In 1999, her first romance, BEYOND THE HIGHLAND MIST, was published. She later wrote several other Highlander books, and in the course of her research, she became fascinated by Celtic mythology. As a result, she began penning an urban-fantasy series set in an Ireland populated by vampires, fairies, and other such creatures. The first of those novels, DARKFEVER, was published in 2006, followed by BLOODFEVER , FAEFEVER, DREAMFEVER, and SHADOWFEVER. Several landed on the bestseller lists, and in 2011, the acclaimed studio DreamWorks acquired the rights to the entire Fever series, much to the delight of her fans, who flooded the Internet with speculation about a future film franchise. (Her most avid readers are known as the "Moning Maniacs.") Moning, who lives with her musician husband, Neil, in Georgia, is often asked where she finds her inspiration. She replied to one interviewer, "In the wind on my bare skin. In a sexy man. In the dark when I'm afraid of what probably isn't but might be. In a movie that ends badly and should have ended another way. In a book that leaves me wanting more."

Praise

"The hugely anticipated conclusion to Moning's Fever series had a big job ahead of it; most fortunately, it delivers. Throughout this remarkable series, the author has kept fans enthralled and guessing as to the true nature of all her protagonists." (top pick) - Jill M. Smith 04/01/2011
