I bought this to hook to my laptop for my new USB 3.0 external hard drive. Work great! Even works without the power supply plugged in. With the power supply plugged in it works without your computer plugged in, so you can plug in a hard drive & use it as a "network" drive
Wireless Mouse not working10/27/2011
I have USB 3 on my AsRock 890FX Motherboard so I wanted to add this hub to make it easier to connect backup drives, usb sticks wireless mouse and keyboard on top my desk. My 300 GB Hdd for Backups works no problem, I connected 4 USB 2.0, HDD to the hub all ran, were recognized and worked with no issues. When I plugged in my Wireless Keyboard and Mouse with the Unifying receiver, Combo mouse and keyboard MK710 (Logitech Marathon Mouse M705, Keyboard MK700) the keyboard seems to work ok but the mouse disappears, will not move across the screen smoothly, freezes on the screen. I unpluged the Unifying receiver and plugged it directly into a USB 2 outlet on my tower and the mouse works perfectly. I am getting a longer USB 3 cable since the 3' long one supplied is almost too short. The back of the desk has a panel. Don't know if it is just the Logitech Unifying receiver causing the issue but other than that I like the product, does what i need it to do.
