Customer Reviews of SIIG eSATA II-150 PCI Controller - 2 x eSATA Serial ATA/150 External SATA External
Would be good, but7/29/2007
This installed easily, and seemed to work fine. With the WD MyBook ES it was fast as well. Unfortunately, the card/driver is causing system problems in Windows. This shows up in the system log as: The device, \Device\Scsi\inic16201, did not respond within the timeout period. But to the user, Windows that access the file system lock up (and it doesn't seem to matter whether they are accessing the external eSata drive or not, Windows, and explorer, are just hung. Other windows not accessing the disc like Firefox stay alive. You have to start killing processes to recover. I've sent in a technical request to SIIG on their footprints reporting system. I'll report if I hear something helpful, but if it's not quickly, the odds are good I'll remove the card and dispose of it in the trash where it belongs.
Works as advertised with SBS 2003 P also.
