|Collector's Edition.|"On Your Marks, Get Set, D'Oh!"|On Your Marks, Get Set, D'Oh!
Fox's ever-popular slacker family from the fictional town of Springfield continue their antics in the fifth season of the animated series.

Clever, dry humor, peppered with pop-culture references and witty inside jokes with the audience, continue to characterize this smart show. In this season, Homer goes back to college and tries to teach the nerds to party, with predictably disastrous results; Bart goes to work for Krusty the Klown and experiences his 15 minutes of fame; Mr. Burns tries to reclaim his long lost toy bear, Bobo, from a fiercely resistant Maggie Simpson; and The Ramones make their famed appearance, playing at Mr. Burns' birthday party.

The Simpsons Season 5includes all 22 episodes on 4 discs plus director, cast and crew commentaries, deleted scenes, and bonus materials.

"...chock-full of special features...for fanatics and casual fans alike.  Adam Rosenberg, DVDFanatic.com
"A pop culture phenomenon...a poignant satire of society...  David Johnson, DVD Verdict
"...the longest running primetime cartoon in the history of television.  NeedCoffee.com
"...the only network show that can be depended on for a few laugh-out-loud moments week after week...  Phil Gallo, Variety
"...the best television series ever made. Period.  Tim Goodman, San Francisco Chronicle

The DVD Report 10 of 10
As the longest running animated show in history, and the longest running prime-time show of any type, The Simpsons is an American treasure - a combination of humor, wit, and satire that examines not just the lives of its eccentric characters, but also the society, culture, and world in which we live. Fun for adults and children alike, The Simpsons is a cutting edge television comedy that, like Seinfeld, altered the television landscape in the 1990's by dictating a new genre of TV fun that spawned network investment in new animated series such as King of the Hill, Futurama, and The Family Guy...Like all new things which smash the paradigm of life, The Simpsons is unrivaled by its knockoffs, and the show doesn't show signs of slowing down. - Britt Gillette
