What else to say but the Simpsons are the only show on TV thats has guts to say, do, whatever they want and the FCC can't say or do anything about it because what they make jokes about is the truth and they are so not PC its funny.

-Anonymous quote

With new and cleverly-animated menus, this is the best Simpsons boxed set yet. The extras are still meager, but the third-season episodes are some of the best the show has produced, including ones in which we meet Krusty's father, see Bart join Fat Tony's mob, watch the Flaming Moe become a hit drink, and see Homer become a country singer's manager. The producers still haven't figured out a good way to present the extras for each episode, so the menus are still a bit of a maze. Look for a few hidden commentary tracks by Al Jean.

Editors Note
Note The third season of THE SIMPSONS finds the show settling comfortably into its status as an international pop-culture phenomenon with increasingly clever and hilarious episodes. The season features guest appearances aplenty, including Magic Johnson, Jackie Mason, Aerosmith, Sting, Kelsey Grammer, and Spinal Tap. Episodes include "Stark Raving Dad," "When Flanders Failed," "Flaming Moe's," "Radio Bart," "Homer Alone," "The Otto Show," and many more.
Reviews
Entertainment Weekly "...Some of the series' most memorable episodes....'Homer at the Bat' remains the season's true pitch-perfect outing..." 09/19/2003 p.70

Reviews
ReviewSource The DVD Report
Review As the longest running animated show in history, and the longest running prime-time show of any type, The Simpsons is an American treasure - a combination of humor, wit, and satire that examines not just the lives of its eccentric characters, but also the society, culture, and world in which we live. Fun for adults and children alike, The Simpsons is a cutting edge television comedy that, like Seinfeld, altered the television landscape in the 1990's by dictating a new genre of TV fun that spawned network investment in new animated series such as King of the Hill, Futurama, and The Family Guy...Like all new things which smash the paradigm of life, The Simpsons is unrivaled by its knockoffs, and the show doesn't show signs of slowing down.
