Annotation:
A bedtime picture book filled with different sleeping baby animals, SLEEPY, OH SO SLEEPY has a quiet, rhythmic text and soft, sweet illustrations. With repetition, and images of baby penguins, giraffes, otters, and many more, there's much to enjoy here. Settling down to bed, children will enjoy being lulled to sleep hearing about tiny ostriches and petite possums.
Author Bio
Denise Fleming
Denise Fleming's career as an artist began when she was in the third grade and one of her paintings was reproduced on the cover of a magazine for teachers. Her career in children's publishing began in 1984 when she illustrated Alice Low's ALL THROUGH THE TOWN. The first book she both wrote and illustrated was 1991's IN THE TALL, TALL GRASS. Many of Fleming's picture book illustrations are "pulp paintings" which are created by forcing colored cotton pulp through hand-cut stencils. Her 1993 work IN THE SMALL, SMALL POND was named a Caldecott Honor Book.
