The CW Presents...
| An astonishing season of destiny! Clark Kent now carries a full load of classes at Central Kansas U., but that's not all he carries. He carries the full weight of his -- perhaps the world's -- destiny. "We call this season Superman in Training," series co-creator Alfred Gough says. "Clark is going to accept his destiny." During this exciting pivotal season: Clark faces rogue Kryptonians, Lex Luthor launches a vicious political campaign, the Fortress of Solitude rises, Clark's love for Lana Lang deepens, and he and Lois Lane remain friendly adversaries. He also crosses paths with AC (aka Aquaman), Victor Stone (aka Cyborg) and the mysterious Milton Fine (aka Brainiac). A dark tragedy -- one even Clark's powers can't prevent -- strikes. These and more key elements of Superman lore fall into place. The future Man of Steel grows another year bolder in this bonus-packed deluxe 22-episode, 5-disc HD-DVD set. |
"Like Superman himself, Smallville is powerful, but unassuming. Bryan Byun, DVD Verdict
"Cleverness abounds in this flashy reworking of the Superman mythology... Los Angeles Times
"A triumphant rethinking of an American classic. TV Guide

Editor's Note
The young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) is once again faced with innumerable problems in this fifth season of SMALLVILLE. The first show begins with Clark facing a difficult decision in the Fortress of Solitude, as he is given the choice of saving Chloe's (Allison Mack) life or saving the planet. As the program progresses Clark finds himself undergoing life-changing challenges as he is stripped of his powers, possessed by the spirit of a girl, and forced to face up to Lana's (Kristin Kreuk) new relationship. As ever, Clark manfully struggles to keep his superhero identity a secret throughout while also facing growing pains familiar to teenagers across the globe. This release contains every episode from the fifth season of the show.
