Soap-Complete Series (1977)
|The controversial sitcom that defined the late '70s and became an instant classic, Soap took viewers into the homes of not one but two of the most dysfunctional families ever - and we couldn't help but embrace every eccentric one of them!|
The show introduces us to the quirky lives of the Tates and the Campbells. The unparalleled cast features Billy Crystal, Richard Mulligan, Robert Guillaume, Emmy nominees Katherine Helmond and Cathryn Damon, Robert Mandan, Diana Canova, Jimmy Baio and Arthur Peterson.
This 12-disc set contains all 90 episodes of Soap!
"Groundbreaking, hilarious, and surprisingly touching, it was must-watch TV of the late 1970s... Bryan Byun, DVD Verdict
Editor's NoteBilly Crystal got his start as one of the first gay characters to appear on prime-time television in this once controversial series. As TV entertainment, SOAP was ahead of its time both creatively--functioning as a parody of the soap opera within the trappings of a prime-time sitcom--and topically--dealing with such issues as interracial marriage, gay parenting, marital infidelity, and impotence. Robert Urich, Richard Mulligan, Katherine Helmond (WHO'S THE BOSS), Robert Guillaume (SPORTS NIGHT), and a host of others round out the impressive ensemble cast of all four seasons and 85 episodes of this must-own for any enthusiast of progressive television. Fans that can't get enough of Guillaume's Benson on this series may be interested to know the character was spun-off into its own show, titled BENSON.

Another nice deal6/7/2013
All the episodes of "Soap" at my fingertips! And at a great price! Now I can watch all the great parts over and over. (e.g., Watching Burt 'disappear' by snapping his fingers, or the great story / excuse he told Mary aboiut why he didn't come home the one night.)
SOAP - The Complete Series8/24/2012
It was great watching this series. It brought back memories from when we originally watched it.
Disk 2 arrived damaged. The disk has scratches across the surface. I cannot watch all of the episodes and am very disappointed.
Talk Soap by J.S.3/5/2009
The series speaks for it's self, if your a fan you'll love this product. The only complaint I have with it is the way the company that distriputs it packaged it, the discs sit on top of each other and can scratch. I take care of my things carefully and had to put thin felt between the discs, but thats me i'm anal. The sound, picture, and episode set up is great, and I highly recommend this product.
Soap - A TV Classic1/8/2009
Having the opportunity to view the episodes again brings back so many fond memories. At the time of airing, I was in High School and I remember how a LARGE group of us used to gather at lunchtime and converse about the show the following day. Just don't make shows like this anymore. My only disappointment in this purchase I have is the packaging of the DVD, it is cheap, but the quality of the DVD is good
There is no real nitty gritty information with the set. The packaging and inserts are minimal but the quality of the DVDs is good. If you are a Soap fan, I would recommend you get it.
Five Stars for Series Two Stars for packaging7/4/2008
If you are a fan of Soap you already know what a terrific series this is. What you need to know is that this is the cheapest dvd package deal you can get. There are no individual cases, all of the dvds are on a cheap plastic spindle with piece of cardboard to hold them in place. For the price, you might think you are coming out ahead, but in the long run, when your disks are all scratched and in need of replacement, you will wish that you had spent the money on he individual season sets.
Perfect Father's Day Gift7/2/2008
I was looking for a gift for Father's Day and heard Soap came out on DVD. What a great gift, to revisit the fun and laughs of days gone by. My Dad is very happy with this product.
