Great transmitter. Worth the extra $
This is the third FM transmitter I've bought over the years and this one blows the others away. The first one was the first generation iTrip which was horrible. The second was the Belkin FM Transmitter which was horrible. Now this one which works great. The others were horrible because the slightest bit of "interference" caused them the sound to crack, hiss, drop out, etc. They also connected via the headphone port which doesn't seem to be optimal. The PodFreq has great sound and it runs off the iPod battery. The iPod docks into the PodFreq device which has a Firewire and a mini USB port to charge/transfer songs & data without having to take it out of the ProdFreq. It comes with a carrying bag, which is nothing special, but still nice to have. Two minor complaints: You have to use the provided spaces/pads to make sure your iPod fits snugly into the PodFreq device. Not a big deal but the clear spaces are a tiny bit ugly. Second, the latch on the side that holds the "lid" down is a little bit weak. I would prefer a stronger latch that couldn't be bumped loose as easily. But you shouldn't worry too much as long as you get the right spacers in there to begin with.
