Customer Reviews of Sony DR-BT50 Stereo Bluetooth Headphone - Wireless Connectivity - Stereo - Over-the-head
Sounds terrible for certain songs1/18/2012
I was excited when I got these. They sounded really nice a few songs, BUT, when I played a song with high pitch sounds it would sound scratchy. If it wasn't for that I would have loved to keep these. I am returning. Try some other ones if you are planning to use these for music.
Best Bluetooth Headset I have Found12/21/2011
This is by far one of the best bluetooth headset that I have found or have used. I have had this set for about a year and I have got to say that I have nothing bad to say about them. The sound quality for music or movies is great on my laptop or my ipod. I have also tried them on a new razor phone and they work great.
Maybe the best bluetooth headset?7/8/2011
Unlike the other reviewer, who blames the problems of bluetooth on the headset, I am very happy with this unit which I've had for over a year. The headset is very light weight, thus not built like a tank, so be careful with it. Realizing that light weight and working on bluetooth which may 'argue' with other bluetooth and WiFi units, using this headset is absolutely wonderful with a cellphone (I have a DroidX) full of music and Pandora, I use it all the time outdoors mowing, etc. If you want a headset that is built like a tank and never fails, good luck with finding one, especially at the price of this one.
Great Sound, When Bluetooth Works2/6/2010
As headphones, this set is pretty good. The sound reproduction is accurate with rich bass, ample highs and adequate mids (of course most people turn down mids on their equalizers anyway). If the only aspect of these headphone was sound reproduction, I'd have to give it a 4. Unfortunately, the way the sound gets to the headphones is via Bluetooth. I used this set with my computer along with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The mouse and the headphone fought each other viciously for bandwidth, with the headphones usually winning. I got a different mouse, thinking that my 2004-era one wasn't playing nice. Unfortunately that was over-aggressive and made the sound cut out whenever I moved the mouse. Also, it was a chore to get my computer to use the headphone for sound output and half the time it would be unable to make the initial connection. Basically the headphones are completely functional, but I can only get them to work half of the time. I consider these complaints failings with the bluetooth protocol itself, as I'd always had intermittent problems with bluetooth with whatever device I'm using. I realize that many people use bluetooth only with their cell phones and I think that's where the technology should stay. I can't recommend paying the premium for an inferior experience when used with anything but a cell phone. If you're going to spend this much money on headphones, skip the bluetooth and get nicer cans.
