The Sony Ericsson C901 Cyber-shot phone was announced today, featuring a 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and Smile Shutter technology. Other camera features include auto focus, face detection, BestPic and digital image stabilization. Pictures are saved to the phone's 120MB internal memory or Memory Stick Micro cards. For messaging users, the Sony Ericsson C901 offers SMS, MMS as well as Exchange ActiveSync for corporate messaging. A standard T9 numeric keypad has been incorporated for text input, joining a 2.2-inch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Sony Ericsson C901 supports Quad-band GMS networks and European HSPA networks, and claims a talk time of approximately 4 hours when connected to the latter. The phone does not support Wi-Fi, but offers Bluetooth stereo connectivity and USB support. Other features include support for geo-tagging of pictures, Google Maps support as well as a motion sensor for controlling games. The Sony Ericsson C901 will also offer a YouTube upload function, along with a media player supporting album art and the most popular file formats. When it comes to Web browsing, the phone will utilize the Access NetFront Web browser.
