The projector that uses this bulb, while it was a well-thought out model, it’s showing its age due to max resolution and 4:3 ratio, instead of the 16:9 commonly found today. Because of the setup that it is in, we have chosen to replace the bulb on it a couple times already. Luckily, these seem to last for a couple years, given the use we give the room. But the high cost of replacement, almost the cost of a cheap new projector, makes me think that this bulb might be the last one we buy for it, due to obsolescence of the unit. The actual bulbs we have received in the past have been Sony branded, Original Equipment replacement, and have worked as well and as long as they are specified for within documentation. With that in mind, feel free to buy with confidence, as these are the right ones for the model listed, and perform as they should. However, though this projector was not a very portable model, but as stated if you can afford to replace the unit by now, and maybe leave it as a backup or a lesser used location, it will probably be within your best interest. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase and this was pretty much the lowest price on a direct bolt on for the projector. I did see the specific bulb for less, but given the voltage and fragility of these high temp bulbs, I got a little afraid of having to add the bulb to the mount, before putting the whole thing into the projector.
