Good backup device
There are those who make backups, and those who wish they had. This is a backup device. It works. The SATA interface is easy to install, nothing special required. One note: My tape drive came with a SATA cable, although that was not obvious when I bought it. So I bought a cable, thinking I needed one. Not a biggie. Also, it comes with a license for the stripped down version of Symantec Backup manager (which you have to download). Not the Veritas Backup as described. I am not a fan of Symantec, so I use NovaBackup (which I had to pay for). You can also use Microsoft NT Backup, which comes on the Win XP CD, although you have to install it after the fact. With the original SDX1-35C tapes (first generation) you get 3 Mbyte/sec transfer. With the new AIT turbo tapes, 6 Mbyte. 35-40 Gbyte uncompressed capacity.
