|Lone star and barf the dog-man try to rescue a druish princess from dark helmut.|
"Spaceballs has some hysterical scenes in it... At-A-Glance Film Reviews
Editor's NoteIn this spoof of STAR WARS and a handful of other sci-fi flicks from the 1970s and '80s, space-bum-for-hire Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his half-dog/half-man sidekick, Barf (John Candy), must rescue a spoiled Druish princess (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil Lord Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) in time to pay off Pizza the Hut. With SPACEBALLS, director Mel Brooks is at it again, this time with a science-fiction parody with all the blue-screen special effects and weird makeup (though in this film, things are always slightly off-kilter and unpolished). Here, maverick space travelers set out to save the planet Druidia, which is being harassed by the Spaceballs, a sinister group attempting to pilfer Druidia's air resources. Among the many gags and jokes is a hilarious parody of a classic scene from ALIEN. Mel Brooks himself makes one of his funniest acting appearances as Yogurt, a send-up of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK's Yoda.

Customer Reviews of Spaceballs
This movie is halarious. It will keep you laughing2/21/2007
This movie makes fun of Star Wars, Star Trek, Planet of The Apes, and more. It is nonstop funniness and has you laughing from the beginning all the way until the end. Rick does a great job and special appearances by Mel will crack you up. Barf, Lonestar, Vespa, her dad, Yogurt, Pizza Da Hut, Scroob, and Sanders will all make you laugh at different times. There are a lot of halarious one liners in this movie. A must buy for any fan of Mel or just a lover of comedy!

A Classic, Hilarious Farce11/22/2001
This movie continues to remain one of my all-time favorites. I have watched it hundreds of times and I still find puns, jokes and sight gags that I missed the first time. With the current interest in all things Star Wars, this movie is timeless with its references to the best sci-fi flicks of all time. DEFINITELY check it out, if you haven't seen it yet.
One of the greatest movies ever made!
