Customer Reviews of Spore
Excellent game for anyone who is into simulation games like the Sims. It takes player customization to a whole new level. The game itself is entertaining as well with plenty of amusing quirks. Definitely worth the price here. It was $90 as a new release. I don't think the installation limit will be a hassle for the majority of people. The idea is you have one copy per computer and that would cover several years of upgrades. The complaints are just from people unhappy they can't cheat the system.

it is an excellent game for people how like thinking about the game. i love the game.
Ignore The Pirates, Great Fun!9/10/2008
Yeah yeah, copy protection, yadda yadda. Ignore the pirates. This game is a lot of fun. If you like designing and creating, you'll enjoy this. If you're just into those first-person military shoot 'em ups, you probably won't like this a lot. Try the free creature creator at the spore website for just a little taste of the massive amounts of things you can design in this game. Add in that you can access designs created by other users, and it's one heck of a good time.
$50 to RENT this game with horrible DRM? Not a cha9/8/2008
As it has been put, THIS GAME IS FOR RENT....FOR $50. DRM in the form of the horrendous SECURom absolutely ruined the game and they lost 3 sales to my family. I will not purchase any game with SECURom or any game with an installation limit. 3? 5? 10? It doesn't matter. If I legally purchase the game, I can legally install it one million times if I so choose. ALL GAME REVIEWS NEED A NEW SECTION CALLED "DRM". It can go with grapics/gameply/sound/originality. BUT THE THING IS...A PERFECT 10 IN THE OTHER CATEGORIES AND A 0 IN DRM, MEANS A 0 OVERALL. This game is a dud. A Zero. I hope it is the most pirated game ever and EA loses their arse on it. They deserve nothing less than a fiasco.
This Game Will FUBAR Your Computer9/8/2008
The game is ok, but the copy protection will take over your PC forever. It will never belong to you again - sheesh!
Say no to the 3 time Installtion Limit!9/8/2008
Almost all games use copy protection to try to stop piracy, usually it's not too intrusive to the paying customer. Not so this time around, and the limit of 3 installations before you have to call Electronic Arts technical support (at your expense) to beg for another installation is a killer for me. Somebody at EA must think PC gamers are as dumb as a box of rocks or they simply under-estimate the power of bad reviews at the speed of the Internet.
I was ready to click on ADD TO CART button when I decided to check reviews on this game and found out about the DRM. Only 3 installs allow! I own more than 3 computers currently and I reinstall OS every few months on one computer on another. On top of that, SecureROM that I cannot uninstall. Oh no.
Awesome covers it all.
