A compilation volume this time around, bringing together cues from Dennis McCarthy's scores for "Yesterday's Enterprise," "Unification," and "Hollow Pursuits." Three of McCarthy's better efforts, to be certain, with "Hollow Pursuits" closing the album with some nicely upbeat cues that contrast the earlier minor-key suspense material. McCarthy often fell prey to a certain blandness in his TNG scoring, but he's very capable of strong material -- and the cues here include some of his strongest work. ~ Steven McDonald |
