This low profile/half-height PCI Express Serial card adds an RS232 (DB9) Serial Port to a computer through an available PCI Express slot, while relying on a native, single-chip design (Oxford OXPCIe952) that harnesses the capability of true PCI Express - ensuring maximum performance and reliability and reducing the load applied to the CPU by as much as 48% over conventional (bridge chip) serial cards.

The PCIe Serial Card features a low profile/half-height mounting bracket that's designed specifically for low profile/small form factor computer cases; compatible with a broad range of operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, and Linux Kernel 2.6.11 and up, the PEX1S952LP PCI Express Serial Card is backed by StarTech.com's Lifetime Warranty and free lifetime technical support.
