MiseryNovelist Paul Sheldon (Cann) doesn't remember the blinding blizzard that sent his car spinning off the road. Nor does he remember being nursed back from unconsciousness. All he remembers is waking up in the home of Annie Wilkes (Bates) -- a maniacal fan who is bent on keeping her favorite writer as her personal prisoner...for the rest of his 'cock-a-doodie' life!Carrie: Special EditionAt the center of the terror is Carrie (Spacek), a tortured high-school misfit with no confidence, no friends... and no idea about the extent of her secret powers of telekinesis. But when her psychotic mother and sadistic classmates finally go too far, the once-shy teen becomes an unrestrained, vengeance-seeking powerhouse who, with the help of her 'special gift,' causes all hell to break loose in a famed cinematic frenzy of blood, fire and brimstone!Needful ThingsSheriff Alan Pangborn (Harris) has a devil of a problem: Suddenly all the residents of his sleep little town are dying... to kill each other. But at least business is still booming, especially at a new antique store. The shop's mysterious owner (Von Sydow) has something for everyone, and his prices are always reasonable: just one small favor... oh, and, of course, eternal damnation! The Dark HalfHorror writer Thad Beaumont (Hutton) hopes to distance himself from his murder novels and from George Stark, the name he has used to anonymously author them. To achieve this, he cooks up a murder of his own: a publicity stunt that should lay Stark to rest forever. But when the people around him are found gruesomely slain - and his own fingerprints dot the crime scenes - Beaumont is dumbfounded until he learns that Stark has taken on life of his own...and begun a gruesome quest for vengeance!System Requirements:Misery: Starring: Kathy Bates, James Caan, Lauren Bacall, Richard Farnsworth, Frances Sternhagen Directed By: Rob Reiner Running Time: 108 Min., Color Carrie: Starring: Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, Nancy Allen, Amy Irving, William Katt, Piper Laurie Directed By: Brian De Palma Running Time: 98 Min., Color Needful Things: Starring: Bonnie Bedelia, Ed Harris, Amanda Plummer, Max Von Sydow, J.T. Professional Reviews

Chicago Sun-Times 7 of 10
[Misery] uncanny in her ability to switch, in an instant, from sweet solicitude to savage scorn... she somehow remains convincing inside her charcter's madness... It is a good story, a natural, and it grabs us... - Roger Ebert

BBC Online 8 of 10
[Carrie] ...there are classic elements of tragedy that lend this gruesome tale a compelling edge. Sissy Spacek puts in a startling performance as Carrie, and perfectly conveys the deep unfairness of her character's vilification... Sad and tragic, this is a horror film with a rare emotional twist.

James Berardinelli's ReelViews 5 of 10
[Dark] While there's little doubt that most Stephen King fans will enjoy this film, it's unclear whether there's enough in The Dark Half to attract a wider audience. An effort has been made to keep the picture from collapsing into a grade-B slasher flick, but there are still copious quantities of blood and gore. While this isn't a complete comeback for screen adaptations of King's work, it's a worthwhile step. - James Berardinelli
