I saw this movie and first of all the producers spent all this money doing a "Buddy comedy" and "Buddy comedies" went out in the eighties. If they had their finger on the pulse of the film industry they would have known that. Nothing is more frutrating than a group of young directors and producers who are too arrogant to listen to advice or seek it out. The ensemble cast rated R films are hot and get distribution. Then the marketing of the DVD case aughhh! They use the fat guy from "Borat" on the DVD case who only has two very small scenes in this film albeit with the best actor of the film Jullian Dulce Vida. Which makes my point. Jullian Dulce Vida plays "Moustache". A tequila guzzling, 70's suit wearing, gold capped dimwitted henchman. This was one of the richest, most complex and dynamic comedic characters I've seen in a movie in a long time and they didn't even use his image on the DVD case. This happened because Jullian Dulce Vida stole the movie from the guys that play the title roles "Stone & ED" and with the pressure of agents, managers and unhappy actors the producers have to soothe the egos by sabotage of the publicity for the poor actor who worked the hardest for the good of the film. Jullian Dulce Vida. It happens in Hollywood. No surprise. All this to say that when you're a green director or producer without the courage or wisdom to have a backbone "too many chefs spoil" the soup as they say. This film was ruined I believe, because of bad marketing and not enough credit or respect to the great ensemble cast. But I still laughed if that is any consolation.
