Starring: Karl Malden
They're Keeping the Streets Safe!|Two Honest Cops on the Deadly Streets!
| The Streets of San Francisco returns to DVD with the final 13 Season One episodes! The hit series stars Karl Malden (On the Waterfront) as veteran homocide detective Mike Stone, and in a role that put him on the map, Michael Douglas (Fatal Attraction) as his idealistic young partner, Inspector Steve Keller. Much of the show's success was due to the friendly banter between the two leads -- one a Hollywood legend, the other a rising star. But the "City by the Bay" also steals the show, as the hit series was filmed entirely in and around San Francisco. A ruthless newsppaer columnist, a retired hit man, and a newly released psychopath are just some of the characters Stone and Keller encounter in Season 1 - Volume 2 of The Streets of San Francisco, digitally remastered and on DVD for the very first time! |
"[Malden is] perfect as the veteran cop...seeing Michael Douglas in the beginning of his career is wonderful...watching them together is magic. Jon Jordan, Crimespree Cinema
"...holds up because it's anchored by two charismatic leads...and, in many ways, remains a great time capsule to '70s America. Chuck O'Leary, FulvueDrive-In.com
"...Malden and Douglas make an interesting pair...fans of '70s cop shows-and San Francisco scenery-may want to give these streets a spin. Jude Clement, TVDVDReviews.com
"...[Malden and] Douglas have a nice, laid-back chemistry...Together, they're unstoppable and incredibly watchable. Rachel Kipp, PopMatters

Editor's Note
"Legion of the Lost" has Det. Lt. Stone posing as a new recruit of a fraternity to investigate the deaths of three former members. In "Betrayed," a middle-aged woman is in jeopardy when a handsome young suitor uses her to obtain confidential information about the bank she works at. Stone must intervene before the thief silences her permanently.
