Customer Reviews of Sunbeam 2-lb. Nonstick Breadmaker with Express Bake
Good price for this product7/18/2014
The bread maker looks good, the pan seems a bit flimsy, we'll see how it holds up.
good so far12/17/2010
I've only made 1 loaf of wheat bread so far and it was very lopsided but the bread had a great taste and texture so I just have to get used to it because we're in a high elevation here. I got this as a bargain deal on ebay and the price was great ($29.99).
Perfect price, perfect machine12/17/2010
This bread maker is great. I have others and we make a week's supply of bread each time we bake. These machines turn out consistent loaves of bread with the cheapest bulk ingredients. You don't need to buy expensive bread flour mixes or the so-called bread maker yeast. Bulk flour (white or whole wheat) and bulk yeast (I buy 1 lb. bags) are all you need along with a little shortening, sugar and salt. I highly recommend this bread machine. The $30 price tag was a plus.
Good buy for a low price12/17/2010
Works very well for a basic bread machine. It's a little large but it is quiet and had a lot of settings. And the price-well you can't beat it.
This is without a doubt one of the easiest appliances I have used. The instructions are clear and easy. I made my first loaf of bread and it came out just fine. Not bad for a 57 year old man! The cost is super low for the bread maker and so easy to use that I recommend it for any one. If I can make bread any body can. Clean-up is also very easy. Just follow the instructions and you can't go wrong!
This Sunbeam breadmaker seems to be fool-proof. A great machine at very little cost. It makes perfect loaves every time. For me, it was money well spent.
1st time bread baker11/16/2009

Fantastic bread maker11/16/2009
My husband and I have been making all types of bread in this machine. We love it! It is easy to use and makes a great loaf of bread. For the money, you cannot go wrong with this bread machine.
First time ever using this and it is great. Just follow the easy directions and you will be feasting on delicious homemade bread!
Darned good bread machine, especially considering the price. No problems, works as it should. Nothing else to say; I recommend it for anyone looking.
I had a small 1lb bread maker that was years old and now broke down. Since my family LOVES bread I bought this one. It's SO easy and convenient! The bread comes right out nice and easy, with out the mixer getting stuck in the bread! Perfect sized loaves for my bread loving family of 4! Simple instructions, and ease of use is great for beginner or experienced bread bakers. Good product for fresh bread! Downfalls though are that is slightly bulky and room consuming on my small counter tops, and the display is not back lit, so if it's not in a well lit area it's hard to read.
Its so easy1/21/2009
This is my first breadmaker and I'm loving it! It came with a very easy to follow instruction book and I feel like I am baking bread for my family like a professional at a fraction of the cost. I will definitely experiment with its other uses such as mixing pizza dough and making jam!
Great simple breadmaker12/3/2008
I bought this for my wife so she can bake gluten free bread. All she does is add the gluten-free bread mix and ingredients and its done in 2 hours.
I am a first time user and I find this bread maker is incredibly easy to use! I love my bread maker and make 2 loaves every week for my family. They definitely taste great!
This bread maker is incredibly easy to use! I've already made 4 loaves and I've only owned it for two weeks! My only complaint is that it's much bigger in person than the picture makes it seem. Make sure to check the measurements to see if it will fit in your intended space.
WOW! We compared it to a $300 brand too.2/18/2008
For the money, we didn't go wrong. My Mother compared it to her $300 German brand with a stainless steel bowl and she kept my Sunbeam and told me to get another one. The stainless steel sticks real bad. I've had no problems with the Sunbeam sticking and I used the booklet recipe for both white and wheat (regular version, not quick bread) and added an egg to it and it was great. So the loaf is a bit of an odd size, I just turned it the other direction to slice. I have not seen any chipping of the surface of the bowl or paddle with this unit either and I see no reason to lock the lid down as the one person complained about. Cons: Yes, it would be handy if the readout was backlit. -- I still highly recommend this bread maker.
5 Star review2/7/2008
I own the older model "Express Bake" Sunbeam breadmachine. My Mom didn't know that you can make bread in less than an hour. I purchased the 2lb Sunbeam express for her and she loves it. She is almost 90 years old and made bread the first try! She said it works so nice and mixes up everything just perfect and has little noise. We both would recommend!!
Good machine, bad recipe1/23/2008
The machine is solid and I have no problem with it. The problem is the recipe. I tried the basic recipe the result was no good. It asks me to put too much yeast and too little liquid. The machine began to knock because the dough was too dry. I find the best quantity by trial and error. After three tries, I am having a perfect recipe with this machine.
Negatives: 1. Lid doesn't lock so if bread runs aways -- tough 2. No pause button (only start/stop) 3. Finish/Paint from the blade started to come off after 1 use 4. Recipies in the book call for 5 tbsp of yeast which is ridiculous -- don't follow them Positives: 1. Cheap
Quick and delicious bread1/2/2008
The bread machine was nicely priced and arrived quickly. It provides great tasting bread quickly.
Worth the money!1/1/2008
Cool to watch the machine do all the work after putting in all the ingredients. End result was a surprising loaf of bread that actually tasted pretty good.
Can't Read Display!12/31/2007
This bread machine does make good bread. My gripes are: -READING the display, which is not back-lit and I find myself lifting the product up to a light so I can see what I am doing with it. -The delay feature does not yield as good a product as when you just start it fresh without the delay. -The paddle gets stuck inside the loaf about 50% of the time for me. It's non stick feature is miles better than the last bread machine that ate the paddle! At least it comes out now. Things I like: -The bread is good. Favorites are the quick bake breads (as long as you use fast rising yeast). -The measuring spoon is cool. -I use it a couple times a week.
