Super Mario Galaxy 2 is really really fun. The new levels are challenging and exciting, and using yoshi is a fun feature. I will say sometimes, basically until you get used to it, the camera angles can be a bit disorienting and even frustrating. But overall wonderful buy.
Another Must-Play Wii game, with Effective 2-Playe
I really can't understand why more people don't talk about the two player mode in this game. In the first Galaxy game, two player was a needless afterthought. In this game, it's a fun tactical enhancement.
The second player can provide several services to Mario:
* Collecting star bits (like the first Galaxy game)
* Stomping low-level enemies
* Freezing larger enemies, bowling balls, etc.
* Collecting coins, even hard to reach ones
* Generally helping Mario with the tougher challenges
This is great fun. Finally Dad can help the kids through tough levels!
We also like New Super Mario Bros. Wii for its full two-player mode. In that game, up to four people play equal, independent characters (Mario, Luigi, Toad...) But frankly, my daughter is a lot better at games than I am, and in Galaxy 2, I get to play her assistant. It's a great concept.
In general, this is a solid upgrade from the first Galaxy game. The rough edges have been evened out, making it less frustrating and more fun overall. There are lots of hidden Galaxies, and periodically a character will invite you to a challenge as well. Five stars for another winning Mario title.
It's rare to get a sequel to a Mario game with the same gameplay mechanics but this one has improved on everything the first Mario Galaxy had. I love that they included Yoshi as a playable character for instance. There are a lot more power-ups Mario can acquire along his adventure too. I'd say the difficulty is a little less than the first Mario Galaxy because of the extra help you can get. Another player can use a second wii remote to freeze enemies and gather items to help the main player. This is great if a younger kid is playing and needs help. If you've played and enjoyed any of the Mario games I'd recommend you get this one!
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (two) on the nintendo wii is great. Everything the first super mario galaxy does super mario galaxy 2 does better. Take controll of mario as he goes from planet to planet to get stars and you are propeled by the planets gravity, you can walk in circles around a planet

In 2007, Super Mario Galaxy took the world of video games by storm. Now this first true Mario sequel in years re-energizes the franchise with new levels and new power-ups. Plus this time Mario gets to team up with his dinosaur buddy Yoshi, who adds new possibilities to the gravity-defying game play. It’s everything you love about the first game and more.
Launch into a new universe of gravity warping worlds in the sequel to one of the greatest games of all time! Yoshi joins Mario as they traverse a wild variety of galaxies exploding with imagination, helping out our hero as he gulps enemies, runs at super speed, or inflates like a blimp to reach high cliff tops. Whether Mario’s leaping into orbit around tiny micro-planets, tumbling through rooms with constantly flip-flopping gravity, or drilling through craggy worlds to emerge on the other side, he’ll need new abilities and serious jumping skills to survive the all-new challenges ahead!
Mario collects stars as he travels from galaxy to galaxy. Every level is new, but the game retains the charm, sense of wonder and beauty in line with Mario’s history. Mario works his way through the various levels, sometimes upside-down, sometimes floating from place to place.
On some stages, Mario can find an egg, smash it open and hop onto the back of Yoshi. Yoshi can use his tongue to grab items and shoot them back at enemies, or to snag attach points and swing across chasms.
Yoshi has an interesting diet. When he eats a Dash Pepper, he gets so hot and frenzied he can run up steep inclines and vertical walls. When he eats a Blimp Fruit, he inflates like a balloon and floats to new heights.
New power-ups include a drill that Mario uses to tunnel through the planet’s surface all the way to the other side of a planet.
Skilled players will want to collect new Comet Metals, which will unlock harder levels with even more challenges.

... quite simply, a masterpiece.
genre defining piece of software and one that is, as the title suggests: out of this world.
