"Curl up with a blanket, a cup of hot tea and The Ultimate Tear-Jerkers Collection for a night to drown your emotions in the wonderful world of film. Contains the emotional classics DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE and A WALK TO REMEMBER.

DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD: Like mother, like daughter. Neither New York playwright Sidda Lee Walker nor her eccentric Louisiana mother Vivi will likely take steps to mend the rift between them. No, this is a job for the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

The Ya-Yas - sworn lifelong friends of Vivi - stage an unorthodox ""intervention"" to bring daughter and mother together in this warm adaptation of Rebecca Wells' bestsellers, written for the screen and directed by Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise). Sandra Bullock plays Sidda and leads a stellar cast: Ellen Burstyn, Ashley Judd, James Garner, Fionnula Flanagan, Shirley Knight, Maggie Smith, and more. ""This sisterhood is powerful and powerfully funny,"" The Philadelphia Inquirer's Carrie Rickey wrote: Ya-Ya to that!

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE: Grieving widower Garret Blake builds boats for a living. Rebuilding his life - that's another matter. But that's before Theresa Osborne comes to his North Carolina village. Theresa, a lonely divorcee and researcher for the Chicago Tribune, knows Garret is the author of the message she found inside a bottle on a Cape Cod beach. And she knows the message spoke to her in a way that profoundly touched her heart.

Kevin Costner as Garret and Robin Wright Penn as Theresa bring high-voltage starpower to MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, a tale of love lost and found based on Nicholas Sparks' bestseller. ""You choose - the past or the future. Pick one and stick with it,"" Garret's spry father Dodge (Paul Newman) advises. The advice sticks. So does the impact of this tender, movingly filmed tale.

A WALK TO REMEMBER: Love brings together what peer pressure and lifestyles seek to keep apart in this coming-of-age story based on a best seller by Nicholas Sparks (MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE) and directed by Adam Shankman (The Wedding Planner). Multiplatinum recording star Mandy Moore plays Jamie, a preacher's daughter whose self-confidence doesn't depend on the opinions of others. Shane West (TV's Once & Again) play Landon, who's skating through high school on looks and bravado. But when events thrust him into Jamie's world, he begins an unexpected journey he'll never forget. Trust. Hope. Goals. Faith. Unconditional love. They're the remarkable steps to life changed - and of A WALK TO REMEMBER."

"[Walk] It's wholesome as a glass of milk, and as refreshing.  Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Inquirer
"[Divine] ...screwball farce and blood-curdling family intensity on one continuum...  F.X. Feeney, L.A. Weekly
"[Message] ...succeeds in being both tender and cathartic.  James Berardinelli's ReelViews

Professional Reviews

San Francisco Chronicle 8 of 10
"[Divine] Based on the novel by Rebecca Wells and directed by Callie Khouri (who wrote ""Thelma and Louise""), the movie exists in a universe in which one sex seems to run the world and the other exists only to supply lovers and consorts...Khouri fills the flashbacks with accurate period detail -- the clothing, knickknacks, clocks and cars, even the attitudes -- so that we sense the passage of time and appreciate the story's span. There's no denying that ""Divine Secrets"" is a clumsy journey, but at the end we know we've been places." - Mick LaSalle

Chicago Sun-Times 6 of 10
"[Message] ""Message in a Bottle"" is a tearjerker that strolls from crisis to crisis. It's curiously muted, as if it fears that passion would tear its delicate fabric; even the fights are more in sorrow than in anger, and when there's a fistfight, it doesn't feel like a real fistfight--it feels more like someone thought the movie needed a fistfight 'round about then...But where, oh where, did they get the movie's ending? Is it in the original novel, ""Message in a Bottle,"" by Nicholas Sparks? Don't know. Haven't read it. The climactic events are shameless, contrived, and wildly out of tune with the rest of the story." - Roger Ebert

Salon.com 6 of 10
"[Walk] ""A Walk to Remember,"" directed by Adam Shankman and adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel, is a vehicle for teen singing sensation Mandy Moore. As vehicles go, it's an Edsel...Shockingly, ""A Walk to Remember"" is rated PG, probably because the mere act of keeping vaginas and penises apart is an overt assertion of their existence. And as we all know, it was never in God's plan that they should exist at all. Eve handed Adam that apple and it was all downhill from there. To hide her shame, Eve headed to the Laura Ashley store and enveloped herself in ditzy cotton prints. The good news is, she eventually found her way to Victoria's Secret. In this movie, Mandy Moore is still lost at the mall." - Stephanie Zacharek
