Numbers from ten to one are part of this lullaby which observes the room of a little girl going to bed. *Author: Bang, Molly *Publication Date: 1989/01/01 *Number of Pages: 24 *Binding Type: Hardcover *Grade Level: Preschool *Language: English *Depth: 0.50 *Width: 8.50 *Height: 7.50
In a charming ritual, a young girl and her loving father count backwards from 10 to 1 as she prepares to go to bed for the night. Starting with "10 small toes all washed and warm," the text concludes with "1 big girl all ready for bed." The final page, which depicts a small circular image of the girl sound asleep with her arms around her favorite stuffed bear, is a wordless tribute to zero. A calming and comforting look at the sometimes difficult end-of-the-day transition from playtime to bedtime, TEN, NINE, EIGHT is illustrated with color paintings and was a 1984 Caldecott Honor book.
