| The portraits in Texas Troubadours are as genuine and soulful as the musicians themselves. When you look into these faces, you see lives that, as Kinky Friedman says, have known "the road, the cheap motels, the beer joints and half-filled houses, the days when our autographs were bouncing, the long nights of pain and beauty beyond words and music." |
Author Bio
Kinky Friedman
American novelist and short-story writer Kinky Friedman has had considerable success both as a writer and a musician. As leader of Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys, he created such country hits as "Get Your Biscuits In The Oven And Your Buns In The Bed", a song that earned him a "Chauvinist Pig of the Year" award from the National Organization of Women. An irreverent personality, Friedman is a frequent guest on talk radio and a shameless self-promoter. For many years he has lived in the Texas hill country with an assortment of cats and dogs and an armadillo.
