Stan Berenstain

Stan Berenstain is best known for his books featuring the Berenstain Bears, a family of humorous bears which he created in collaboration with his wife, Jan. The couple met as students at the Philadelphia College of Art and began writing children's books when they were unable to find enough funny books to satisfy their son. The duo has made many contributions to the Beginner Books series created by Dr. Seuss in an effort to help children learn to read by using humor and a controlled vocabulary.
