|The Good Deed Scouts see that Mama could use a break from her chores. Can their hard work measure up to Mama''s high standards as they show her the honor and respect children should show their parents?|
From the Publisher:
The Good Deed Scouts are a group of bear cubs committed to doing a good deed each and every day. In this Berenstain Bears Living Lights level one I Can Read, scouts Brother, Sister, Cousin Fred, and Lizzy set forth to find a good deed to do. The scouts decide that it is a good idea to help Mama Bear with her every day chores around the tree house. Emergent readers quickly learn that with kindness and cooperation, work gets done and then the fun can begin. Biblical values are brought out and Bible verses are quoted in this new addition to the highly successful I Can Read series. In addition to the faith-based messages always found in Zonderkidz books, we have the benefit of having our young readers learn about life's truths and lessons with the beloved Berenstain Bear cubs. The Good Deed Scouts--Brother and Sister Bear, Cousin Fred, and Lizzie--decide that their good deed for the day will be helping Mama Bear around the house.
Jan Berenstain is best known for her books featuring the Berenstain Bears, a family of humorous bears that she created in collaboration with her husband, Stan. The couple met as students at the Philadelphia College of Art and began writing children's books when they were unable to find enough funny books to satisfy their son. The duo has made many contributions to the Beginner Books series, which was created by Dr. Seuss in an effort to help children learn to read by using humor and a controlled vocabulary.
