I guess I just didn't do my research well enough. I wanted a translated copy of The Egyptian Book of the Dead aka The Book of Going Forth By Day. I was dismayed when this pamphlet reached me and I discovered it was merely a copy of an academic article ABOUT the Egyptian Book of the Dead (specifically, on the method of numbering the chapters) extracted from the book "Egyptian Religion and Ethics." I wish the title had somehow reflected this, but as I say, if I had done my research into this author I might have seen that it was not a translation. Overall, I can't say much about the article itself though it seems to answer some questions about how the book ended up with such a complicated numbering system. I wonder what the rest of this authors book is like.
