From the Publisher:

In The Eye of God, a Sigma Force novel, New York Times bestselling author James Rollins delivers an apocalyptic vision of a future predicted by the distant past.

In the wilds of Mongolia, a research satellite has crashed, triggering an explosive search for its valuable cargo: a code-black physics project connected to the study of dark energy?and a shocking image of the eastern seaboard of the United States in utter ruin.

At the Vatican, a package arrives containing two strange artifacts: a skull scrawled with ancient Aramaic and a tome bound in human skin. DNA evidence reveals that both came from the same body: the long dead Mongol king Genghis Khan.

Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force set out to discover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery going back to the birth of Christianity, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity.

Author Bio
James Rollins
James Rollins is widely acclaimed for his action-adventure tales, while James Clemens is best known for his popular fantasy novels. The two are, however, one and the same; Rollins and Clemens are both pen names of former veterinarian James Paul Czajkowski. He has told interviewers that he has a common aim, no matter the genre. "My goal when I set out to write is not to examine the human condition or explore the trials and tribulations of modern society," he asserts. "When I set out to write, I aim for pure . . . adventure, pure escape and entertainment. I follow the three M's of storytelling: murder, magic, and mayhem." Czajkowski was born in Chicago, and from an early age he was a fan of pulp novels from the 1930s and ?40s. He also loved tales about explorers like Howard Carter, who discovered the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen, and anything by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. In 1985 he earned a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri and subsequently opened a veterinary practice in Sacramento, California. An avid spelunker and scuba diver, he also relaxed by writing in his spare time. Meeting one of his idols, fantasy writer Terry Brooks, at a conference led to an introduction to Brooks's publisher, who released the first Clemens novel, WIT'CH FIRE, in 1998. The following year, his first action-adventure, SUBTERRANEAN, was published under the name Rollins. Since then, he has regularly published under both names; he has admitted that at book signings he sometimes gets confused and autographs a volume incorrectly, but that fans don't generally seem to mind.
