Whit and Wisty Allgood have sacrificed everything to lead the resistance against the merciless totalitarian regime that governs their world. Its supreme leader, The One Who Is The One, has banned everything they hold dear: books, music, art, and imagination. But the growing strength of the siblings'' magic hasn''t been enough to stop the One''s evil rampage, and now he''s executed the only family they had left.
Wisty knows that the time has finally come for her to face The One. But her fight and her fire only channel more power to this already invincible being. How can she and Whit possibly prepare for their imminent showdown with the ruthless villain that devastated their world-before he can truly become all-powerful?
In this stunning third installment of the epic Witch & Wizard series, the stakes have never been higher--and the consequences will change "everything."

Annotation:
In bestselling author James Patterson's fast-paced dystopian young adult Witch & Wizard series, a sister and brother are crucial to a revolt against the totalitarian government that is taking apart their society. Wisty and Whit are about to face The One, who is responsible for the downfall of culture, and they don't know how to defeat him. If they are going to save their world, the kids need to come up with a plan to use their magic against The One instead of letting him control it. This is the third book in the series, which includes WITCH & WIZARD and THE GIFT.
Author Bio
James Patterson
James Patterson grew up in Newburgh, New York, 50 miles north of New York City. Valedictorian of his class at the Christian Brothers school, St. Patrick's, in 1965, Patterson graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in English. He first entertained the idea of becoming a writer in 1971 when he worked as a college student in a mental institution, a job that afforded him abundant time to read. He came up with the idea for his first novel during that time, and five years later, after 26 rejection slips, his first effort, "The Thomas Berryman Number", appeared in bookstores. Since that time, Patterson has written numerous best-selling thrillers featuring the sensitive, modern-day hero Alex Cross, including "Kiss the Girls", which was made into a major motion picture starring Morgan Freeman.
