| Whit and Wisty have established themselves as leaders of the Resistance, willing to sacrifice anything to save kids kidnapped and brutally imprisoned by the New Order. But the One has other plans in store for them: He needs Wisty, for she is "The One Who Has the Gift." |
|
From the Publisher:
After escaping imprisonment by the totalitarian regime known as the New Order, siblings Wisty and Whit Allgood, who possess magical powers, establish themselves as leaders of the Resistance, a hidden community of teenagers like themselves, hunted by the state and determined to defy its ban on the arts, magic, and all other forms of creativity. |
Annotation:
Whit and Wisty were sometimes pretty freaked out when they were captured, imprisoned by, and then escaped from the New Order. Now they are the brave leaders of the Resistance, a group that goes to great and dangerous lengths to help other kids who the scary, violent organization has nabbed. Along with their regular duties with the Resistance Whit and Wisty now also figure out what the One means when he says that Wisty "Has the Gift." The adventures abound in this final installment in James Patterson's Witch & Wizard series.

Author Bio
James Patterson
James Patterson grew up in Newburgh, New York, 50 miles north of New York City. Valedictorian of his class at the Christian Brothers school, St. Patrick's, in 1965, Patterson graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in English. He first entertained the idea of becoming a writer in 1971 when he worked as a college student in a mental institution, a job that afforded him abundant time to read. He came up with the idea for his first novel during that time, and five years later, after 26 rejection slips, his first effort, "The Thomas Berryman Number", appeared in bookstores. Since that time, Patterson has written numerous best-selling thrillers featuring the sensitive, modern-day hero Alex Cross, including "Kiss the Girls", which was made into a major motion picture starring Morgan Freeman.
Praise
"Dialogue-heavy and action-packed, the writing throughout is inventive and colorfully detailed."
